Final Project

Overview

This website presents our project that explores the constitutions of the 15 different states of the former Soviet Union. Using document analysis, we sought to compare and contrast the preamble and first chapter of 15 constitutions. We looked for similar themes and concepts that are common among constitutions, such as nationalism, individual rights, and soveriegnty. The ultimate goal was to see what the most important information to include was for different states.

About the Researchers

Madeline Franz is a junior at Pitt. She is majoring in Political Science and History with minors in French and Computer Science. She took this class because she is interested in the analysis of data, and this class expands that to include textual data as well.
Cole Belling is a sophomore at Pitt. He is majoring in Politics and Philosphy with minors in Econmoics and Spanish. He took this class to learn to become more proficient with computers and programming.
Farah Hendawy is a freshman at Pitt. She is majoring in Economics-Mathematics. She took this class to furthur her honors degree and learn more about analyzing texts.
